An Interview with Hideya Kawahara
"Chuck Talk: I understand that you are the principle builder and architect for the Project Looking Glass interface from Sun Microsystems. I have read that you built the interface in your spare time, working to develop this unique new interface. Your work is an amazing and inspiring innovation. I must say that I am impressed, no matter what some may have written about the technology, it is more intuitive to work in three dimensional space, IMHO. Could you tell us where your inspiration came from for the idea?
Hideya Kawahara: I'm just a geek who are interested in 3D stuff, but not a 3D expert. Maybe like most of you folks. I think this fact has heavy influence in the UI design approach I took for Project Looking Glass.
