 Jeff Dike Interview

JVDS interviews Jeff Dike, the main author of User Mode Linux.

"UML occupies a middle ground between other virtualization products. The others fall into two sets - partial virtualization (vserver, BSD jail) and full virtual machines (S/390, VMWare). UML is a fully virtualized OS without having a full virtual machine. So, if you need a full OS, but don't need hardware emulation, then UML is the only game in town."
