Making the Case for XFree86's Speed
OSNews hosts an interesting technical article, explaining that XFree86 is not slow, as many people seem to think, but most programmers don't know how to use it effieciently or that some new extensions need to be created to help with speed (eg. make the drawing code part of the client side).
