 Role-Based Access Control in Solaris

Role-Based Access Control, or RBAC, was introduced with Sun Solaris 8. It hasn't received much attention since then, despite being a powerful method of allocating root-level privileges to non-root users, somewhat in the fashion of 'sudo'. What does it really do?
