"Morgan Stanley Dean Witter & Co., Merrill Lynch & Co., and Credit Suisse First Boston Corp. are among the companies that have either already installed Linux to replace major portions of their computing infrastructures or are planning to do so. Ms. O'Connor says the rebuilding process is letting Lehman be "smarter the second time around" about its infrastructure decisions."
