Ximian GNOME on a Low Resource Machine
Linux and Main talk about running GNOME on
"I've played with GNOME on the Libretto for more than a day now, using it pretty heavily, consolidating toolbars here and there in applications to save desktop space I cannot afford to devote to such luxuries, and generally having a good time. So far I have not had to consult the docs, other than my failed attempt to autohide the Menu panel; other users have answered my fairly obscure questions quickly and in a friendly fashion. GNOME is set up on the machine to closely resemble the way I usually set up KDE, so the comparison is biased as little as possible either way by the fact that it is new to me."
