"In contrast, Solaris provides pkgadd. Pkgadd can not resolve dependencies. It only knows how to retrieve packages from a specified URL, but does not have any ability to retrieve packages from a Sun resource. Pkgadd is a bit antiquated by modern UNIX standards unless coupled with the Sun Connection which is not quite the same thing.
