Pico ITX Motherboard Review: VIA ITX

Cool looking board.

"Due to the size of the Pico-ITX motherboard, the best way to attach an optical drive is through USB. This creates an obstacle for installing a full operating system (like Windows XP or Ubuntu) if you don't have one, but there are a number of ways to get around this if you want to invest the time and have the understanding. Initially, just to keep things simple, I used the Pico-ITX system with a lightweight Linux distribution known as Feather Linux. This distro is designed to fit on a USB flash drive that is under 128 MB, and it can be booted from and run off of the drive. This means no disk-based solution is needed, though for testing a 3.5 SATA drive will be attached as well."
