 Steps to manually mount a USB flash drive

This article provides the steps required to mount a USB device manually in GNU/Linux. Usually most Linux distributions come with a program called hotplug which does the job of automatically mounting the device when you insert it. But in bare bones linux distributions which do not have this program, the steps provided in the article becomes helpful.
