Sun Microsystems - Future of Solaris?
Sun Microsystems is doing all it can to make sure its software and intelectual property wealth lives on and even thrives. Under the changing scenario, it has decided to release Java under GPL, throws broad hints on GPLing Solaris and now is also shipping free DVDs of Solaris OS like Ubuntu. This article analyses Sun's actions and why it will help it retain its unique position in the IT world.
